YES(YOUNG ENERGETIC SOCIETY),a social welfare project started by a small group of 12 students of the Asian school of media studies had its humble inception on 22nd December 2006 on the campus of ASMS film city , Noida .With sheer dedication to fight the wide spread menace of child labor , child abuse and illegal trafficking of small kids .
Currently there are more than 200 members working actively. YOUNG ENERGETIC SOCIETY is a youth movement and a new effort by the youth of modern India , to fight the emergency of global poverty and corruption and to uplifting the life of poor people in the neighborhood villages and helping the fuel of our country” THE YOUTH” to what they have to offer . Without any kind of support from the big wigs we collected our pocket money and started YES , since then there is no looking back.”YES” is not only any other NGO, but it is a youth movement of every young gun of modern India whose heart beats for the welfare and development of the nation and the world as a whole. YES pledges to fight against all , social evils from extreme poverty, ill health to corruption.
Seeing a bunch of college students partying in clubs, going out for movies, hanging out in malls and having a blast in common sight but to see these students running an NGO and trying to make difference in the society is something that make YES different from others, the governing members of YES are all below the age of 25 they have not forgotten how to have fun but along with that they also remember their duties and what they owe to the society .
YES is extremely proud to have adopted 9 slums and over 350 children . It has taken it as a serious responsibility to provide all facilities for the social, health and hygiene needs of these kids and also to motivate them undertake formal schooling.
The idea to start this work was encouraged by Souvik Sur ,under the name of YES after a little incident touched his heart. A small girl Mehnaaz who used to come to study daily once came running to Souvik and said “ Bhaiya mujhe bhi doctor jaise kapreh chahie , mai bhi logo ka dard door karoongi aur phir sab theek kar doongi” these lines that this girl spoke and the determination in her eyes told Souvik that he had to do something and that also soon . That was the day that marked the beginning of YES ..Under the guidance of Mr. Sandeep Marwah this organization is all set to change the society . Mr.Marwah shares the similar dream and put his best efforts to help us make a difference in the society.
YES is working hard to meet the requirements of these children . We also try to give these children the happiness that they deserve . Their birthdays and festivals are celebrated by all the members in the village and it is made sure that these special days are actually made special for them .
YES tried to make all the children that being an “INDIAN” that we all should be proud of we should never forget our values and traditions . We try to teach these children that they are also special and not less then others , they must never underestimate themselves , there is nothing that they cannot do .They are as talented and capable as any other being and that they must never forget this .
YES also tries to promote young talent that deserves a chance in the events organized. The NGO is for the youth and goes out of the way to help the youth in any way .
While trying to educate these children we at YES realized that along with teaching the children it is vital to educate the parents before educating the children , thus ,YES organizes regular briefing sessions to create awareness among the parents regarding issues like literacy, family planning health , hygiene and discourages them from resorting to ills like drinking and beating their wife and children .YES provide everything to the slum people regularly like soap , brush , paste , hair oil , clothes , books , pen , pencil , slate and medicine etc.
WE ARE YOUNG,WE ARE BOLD AND WE HAVE A FIRE INSIDE US TO CREATE AN AWAKENING IN OUR SOCIETY , TO PROTECT THE CHILDREN AS THEY ARE THE FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY .To achieve its objective, YES has arranged for a school in Sadarpur Village where the slum kids are taught. These children are discouraged from begging ,taking drugs and teaching basic manners apart from primary education . It is an achievement to see many children going to schools regularly who could be seen begging in market places till only a year back. We also believe a lot has to be done even in the beginning cause we have a long way to go .YES believes in the soul religion of HUMANITY and thus the members visit the slums to celebrate all festivals with these kids irrespective of cast , color and creed ,with equal love and belief.
What’s amazing is that every one of us knows what wrong we are doing ! Its just that we don’t take responsibility for the same and nor the initiative do make things better .We blame the system , the government , general population , the crowd and every thing around us !But little to do we realize that it is we who make the crowd ! It is we who constitute the population ! It is we who choose the government ! SO , IT IS WE WHO SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!
